Swan’s Head

AN14 SS: 1/125, f/4, 105mm, ISO: 320

Happy Weekend everyone,

I started the weekend and my two week annual leave by heading down to the local Wensum Park to catch the late Friday sun. The river is home to some lovely birds and this beauty was very kind swimming very gracefully and slowly past as I took some shots. I plumped for focussing only on  the head in this image as I felt that this was a great way of showcasing this stunning creature. So with some cropping I then decided to whack the saturation down except for the orange and red giving this mostly black and white finish. I avoided my tendency to go too dark and used a very slight white vignette to keep it light. I am particularly pleased with how the water drops sit clearly on the feathers.
