I had the privilege and slightly daunting task of taking photos of these wonderful two people. My friend was celebrating her birthday and wanted some nice shots of her and her gorgeous boy. No pressure – We often walk together with our noble hounds but today was about dress up and photo shoot so I left my pooches at home. We met another friend on the way who happens to be a professional photographer so I felt somewhat self conscious but just threw myself into it. Trying to remember where the sun was (it had been glorious at the start of the morning), looking for shadow, shooting from lower down to make the subjects more ‘important’ and just trying to capture a special moment. I had the camera on auto focus and rapid continuous shoot. Thanks to our photographer friend who was there with his young son he was able to help grab the young man’s attention by doing who knows what behind me (an absolute bonus). Whilst this shot doesn’t show them looking at the camera I have chosen to post it as it just is a wonderful moment between Mum and Son. At that moment, for both of them, there is nothing but each other. I was lucky to get some good shots and will post a few more over the next few days. Portrait work is, I think my favourite genre and want to get really good
