Timmy the camera shy chippet

AN36: SS: 1/125o, F/stop; f/5.6, Focal point; 400mm, ISO; 800

It has been a little while since my last blog and this is one of the reasons. I had the pleasure and challenge of shooting this little chap at home with his human Mummy. The session brought a number of challenges, which included; really bright and hot day, shooting late morning and midday (not the best time), a scaredy cat dog who didn’t like the sound of the shutter and he was also like ‘the Flash’ nippy, nippy, nippy. What I learnt was the importance of taking time with animals who don’t like the camera and getting the owners to play with them to relax them. My longer telephoto lens came into its own here as I could be further away so be less disturbing.  I took over 600 photos which about 100 were something that I could use. My final set was in the region of 20 and this one is one of my favourites. I have desaturated the background to reduce the competition for attention between Timmy and the brightly coloured towel and grass.
