Introducing Cagney and Lacey (I don’t know which one is which!). They sat watching me rather suspiciously but still managed to get some lovely shots. I love the feathered legs and they were so sassy! As you can see from the shutter speed and focal length I needed to be a fair way from them and also very quick, they did tend to prefer…
I absolutely love horses, when I was young I was always drawing them so to be able to take some photos of my friend’s horses was a real pleasure. This gentle chap was really obliging with a few good shots but this is my favourite. It shows that small details, such as the tail swishing, really adds depth to the composition. Cropped to place…
This is a vertical sweep going from low to high. With some increase in saturation, clarity and sharpness this has turned out quite like a watercolour. The Heath is in a state of transition and in many ways is quite dull and uninspiring at the moment so messing with these techniques has been an incentive to get my camera up there again. keeping motivated…
Another canine abstract. This one is of Bella with a sideways moving of the camera. This caused quite a feel as well as a ‘pencil drawing’ look. Editing and enhancing aspects such as the shadow and the black helps bring the image out a little more.
I couldn’t say how excited I was when I took this and started editing it. I was playing with the technique of Zooming in and out to get an abstract picture. The unedited version is a little hard on the eyes so I decided to crop it with only half of Celli’s face and am rather pleased with the result. Let me know what…
I put this onto a facebook camera group that I am part of and it received so many positive comments, mostly about the emotion it shows, that I have felt compelled to put this on here. It is a picture that shows the simple joy that dogs find in life and it makes me smile each time. We should all be a bit more…
Introducing this little dude.. this is Alfie. Alfie by name and Alfie by nature. I removed the colour from this but not totally. Wanted a hint of colour but not sure if this works well on this occasion. I shall let you constructively comment. He was very interested in the camera but this shot was the best and didn’t involve wet nose art on…
Watching the film ‘Stardust’ last night has prompted me to put this photo up. This is the location for the ‘Slaughtered Prince’ and I remember when there was much excitement to be had in the City when they were filming here. It is a beautiful street. I took the photo low to increase the send of perspective and chose to change it to Black…
Another attempt at some lifestyle photography, a little easier when it is someone on a motorbike. This was also an opportunity for me to practice some ‘panning’ which turns out that I need quite a lot more practice! I love the graffiti backdrop and the arrow on the left adds a little extra. I did consider trying this out in black and white but…
I am wanting to practice my ‘street’ and ‘lifestyle’ photography but it is not something that I find comfortable within today’s ethical climate. I find people look at you suspiciously the moment they see your camera. I was thankful to come across these two, having such a wonderful time, you can see how relaxed they are. The ability to take the photo from behind…
