Have been struggling with inspiration over the past couple of weeks but pleased with this little composition. Norwich has some absolute treats and this is a simple doorway situated in one of the most beautiful streets in the City. This frontage holds so many interesting features.
Uh, this has been a definite challenge and I have not found this easy nor am I fully satisfied with the images. The lighting has been really difficult to get right and I have used a mix of natural and studio light. The natural light created a lot of reflections through the glass and it was at times really annoying to find that when…
Elm Hill in Norwich is one of the oldest streets in the city. It also enjoyed stardom in being a location in the film Stardust. Just off the main street, there are a number of small alleys that lead to shops. This is one such alley way. The old fashioned lamp and the typography on the sign adds to it’s oldie worldy feel. I…
Yesterday, the weather was glorious so I headed out to meet a friend for a cuppa and take some city centre photo’s. The Forum in Norwich is a magnificent subject and I loved these reflections of St Peter Mancroft church that stands opposite. I went for full black and white and sever cropping to get the focus more on the reflections.. the black of…
Isn’t it just so that sometimes less is more? Keeping it simple helps create this image. I didn’t have to do too much in the way of editing, just a little work with the black and the saturation. I love it’s simplicity.. the colours shouting out from the dark. I considered cropping some of the black background but for some reason it just didn’t…
AN17 & 18. Whitlingham park, Norwich. Norfolk. SS; 1/3200, f/4, 82mm, ISO: 400. The park has lots of birds which creates fantastic opportunities to take photos, especially of swans. I was really pleasantly surprised at this shot as I wasn’t really concentrating but take a look at the arms of the young girl and how they are copying the wings of the swan. She…
This was a shot that shouldn’t have been. I love crows and ravens but haven’t had the camera on me at any time that has allowed a good shot. This however was taken on my phone and I quite like the outcome. Black and white is of course the choice here with a more distinct black vignette to add to the mood of this…
This chap has provided me with some amazing shots and again this attempt has given me some of my best yet. Here the colour works really well although I have desaturated the background only slightly so as not to compete with the rich colour of his coat. This shot encompasses his youth, agility and energy. A good calendar shot do you think?
This is a photo that I was pleasantly surprised about. The fact the the dogs are not in focus draws your eye to my friend. What is she looking at? What is going on across the field that is holding her attention. She is exuding a sense of relaxation whilst this canine activity is going on in front of her. Again I have gone…
I had the privilege and slightly daunting task of taking photos of these wonderful two people. My friend was celebrating her birthday and wanted some nice shots of her and her gorgeous boy. No pressure – We often walk together with our noble hounds but today was about dress up and photo shoot so I left my pooches at home. We met another friend…
