One of the things I really like about portrait photography is when you capture that moment where the person you are photographing has just, for a second, forgotten the camera and they share with you this moment elsewhere. This is a good example, my friend is lost in a thought and by the facial expression it is a lovely thought, they are inviting you in to that moment to share it and wonder about it. I am discovering that using props is a really good way to get people to relax and especially if they have brought the props themselves. This ‘giant’ mug really reflects my friends personality.

Aw thank you that is really kind… it took time to capture her as she was really uncomfortable. Really learning how to put people at ease to get the real them to shine through. Have a good day.
